ABOUT US

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: make snowboarding more accessible. We want more people to enjoy the sport the way we do.

From Snow Pro to SP Bindings

In 1987, founder Thomas Krenn set out to bring snowboarding to Europe and started Snow Pro in Birgel, Germany, producing some of the first hard bindings on the market. By the late 1990s, the focus shifted to soft bindings, and the brand was reintroduced as SP Bindings.

In 2007, we introduced the FASTEC® system — one of the first dual-entry bindings. It combines the speed of fast entry with the control and locked-in feel of classic ratchets.

Built on Engineering

SP’s roots are in German engineering, with decades of experience in tool design, toolmaking, and injection molding. These high standards even made us a supplier to the automotive industry.

In 2002, we opened our second factory in China, where all SP products — including SP Bindings, SP Gadgets, and SP Connect — are produced today. From design to production, FASTEC® is 100% developed in-house and built to last.

Global Presence

Since the mid-1990s, our headquarters has been in Vienna, Austria, where sales, design, product development, and marketing come together. SP Bindings is part of SP United Holding AG, with locations in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, China, Japan, and the USA.
